My church has been streaming live on YouTube during this time of social distancing. I wanted to share this to those whose church is not able to do this or if you just want to join in. I hope you enjoy this service about faith and Joseph.

Hi, there friends! I just wanted to send a message to everyone to let you know what we’re doing here in Pennsylvania during this time of social distancing. Don’t worry this post is not going to be a downer, or negative in any way. I really want to use my site to encourage and uplift people even during times when there are negative things going on in the world.
Most states have banned large groups congregating by now and I know as a Christian I love to be with other Christians. So we are using our ipads, (Facetime, FaceBook Video, and other video apps) on our cell phones, and computers for Bible studies, group devotionals and even one-on-one prayer time. Today I thought I would share what my church is doing for Sunday and Wednesday services during this time of social distancing.
My church is The Greater Philidelphia Church of Christ (GPCC.org) and my husband and I use to meet at the Chestnut Hill location in Philidelphia but the time of day that we were meeting made it hard to be there (4pm on Sunday), so now we are going to a different location closer to home, same church, just an earlier time and location. We meet in smaller groups because we are so big. Anyway, here are some of the sermons from the last week since we have been homebound.

Professors, who teach without pay? Have you ever heard of such a thing? I have and I wanted to share it with the world.
The students at Native American Bible College are from all over the US. They have come here with hopes and dreams that are as diverse as they are. The students regularly attend one of the local churches, volunteering and becoming an asset in the community as they learn to be ministers. Some of the students are already ministers who attend NABC for continuing education. Graduates can go on to higher education or may be interested in Prison Ministries, becoming a Missionary, working for the Salvation Army, being a Youth Pastor, Ministry Leaders, Church Management, Disaster Ministries, Camp Administrator, Public Relations Advocate, Manage Missionary Outreach Programs, Worship Leader. With a Masters in Divinity, the areas you can work in are psychology, history, counseling, social work and much more.
Native American Bible College in Shannon, NC is a Bible college affiliated with the Assemblies of God. The school is open to all students no matter their race. The professors here are Missionaries. They have traveled to churches all over the US to raise a budget so they may reside and teach in Shannon, NC.
NABC is a missions school and makes every effort to keep educational costs to students as low as possible. Supporting districts, churches, and individuals subsidize the operating budget of the college. One mistake people make in their walk with God is being onesided. People may do the things I listed above and be true prayer warriors, what are you parring your prayer time with Bible time? Did you understand the question? Essentially, are you reading your Bible daily?
We know it is important to pray, I’ve been doing a 30-day prayer devotional and I’m on day 17. One thing has become increasingly clear, prayer is important, but reading God’s word is equally important. When we pray, we are talking to God. When we read our Bible, he is talking to us. If we are only praying, then we are having a one-sided conversation. We are telling God what we want, what we desire, the things he can do for us and our friends and family. What about what we need to be doing for God? Things we should be changing to be more godly, more humble, more kind to one another?
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
The Bible is a map, it is our direction, it is God telling us what we need to do, and the right way to do it.
When I start my Bible time, the first thing I do is say a prayer. I thank God for waking me up and giving me another chance to live my best life for him, and then I pray for my Bible time I am about to have. Yes, that’s right, I pray for my Bible time. I ask God to open my ears and eyes to what he wants me to know and I ask Him to open the eyes of my heart, to make it clear what he wants of me, and to give me the courage to obedient heart to do it. After my Bible time, comes my prayer time. I pray about what I just read, and what I believe He wants me to do. I talk it over with Him, I elaborate and make sure I understand what I just read, in essence understanding what I believe God wants of me that day. It is a wonderful experience.
So remember, prayer is necessary, I Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray without ceasing. This is us talking to God.
AND II Timothy 3:16-17 tells us All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
So by reading God’s word, he teaches us what we need to do, and rebukes and corrects us when we aren’t doing what we’re supposed to do. He does this so that we may be equipped to do his work. In other words, reading and praying go hand in hand. AMEN!
How is your reading and prayer time lately? Are you praying more than you are studying your Bible (meaning are you talking too much when you should be listening more to his word?) How are you changing things up? Let me know in the comments below.
Remember, this is not just for you alone. If you have a friend who might like to hear this, just remember, sharing is caring and leave me a comment in the section below.
