Surrender is an Attitude
Mark 8:34-35
Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 35For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.
Surrender is an attitude not really an action. We can only do what we can in any given situation and God wants us to do the things we can for ourselves. You can’t get a job until you fill out an application, you know what I mean? But he is interested in us relying on him recognizing that all opportunities an abilities come from him anyway.
If you are trying to control your life, you are not surrendered. Satan knew how to get Eve. He promised her she would be like God. We get so good at controlling our own lives that it becomes second nature and we don’t even realize it.
