Monthly Short Story Contest

Thank you to Chris Hall on Unsplash for the great picture

If you are looking for a great short story contest I got one for you.  Support Indie Authors has a monthly short story contest, yeah that’s right “monthly”.  You can enter as many times as you like but there are rules, and not following those rules will disqualify you so read them because they change monthly.

This month they are looking for your best-zombified summer vacation short story and it must include the phrase:  “Oh no! I can’t believe I forgot my….!” Failure to include this phrase will result in your disqualification.  Also, it must be no less than 1,000 words and no more than 3,000 words.  Any stories not fitting the length requirements will be disqualified.

*Excessive elements of gore, sexuality & violence will cause your story to be disqualified. Aim for a PG-13 rating for your story’s content. (Look, we realize that this is a zombie short story and some gore is to be expected. But if it makes us throw up, we’re not going to want to vote for it. If you write heavy horror/thrillers, then this may not be the contest for you.)

*Any stories promoting racism, sexism, misogyny or violence against marginalized groups will be disqualified. (See above italicized parentheses)

*Entries may be emailed to  siamoderators@gmail.com. Please indicate “SIA’s Zombie Summer Vacation Short Story Contest” in the Headline. Entries must include your name, a title, as well as a word count.

*All genres accepted

Make sure you scroll down to find out the prizes.

You can also become a part of the Support for Indie Authors group on Goodreads.

Go check it out!!  And let me know if you will be entering!
