Bible for the Day #5

Jeremiah 29:11  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

  • Don’t let this verse fool you. It is only half of the story. The Israelites were being punished by God, in exile and enslaved God sent them to Babylon for their disobedience. In the middle of it all, we find this promise. What is your attitude when you are in the middle of the storm?
  • When everything comes down around you are you still faithful that God is in control and that he has a plan for you?
  • When you are in a bad situation, it can be a learning time for you but then again, look around and realize, maybe this isn’t about you, maybe God wants to use you to benefit someone else. How would you feel about God using you?

Dear Father, I know you have plans for me, plans to prosper me, I pray that you will use me for your good. Even if it is to benefit someone else, I know I can learn from the experiences along the way. Help me to be patient and have a good attitude no matter what comes my way.

~ Amen
